Pipeline Will NOT Reduce Dependence on “Foreign” Oil — No Such Thing as Foreign Oil
-Harlan Hentges
The U.S. cannot reduce its dependence on “foreign” oil, because there is no such thing. Oil is not foreign or domestic. It’s global. A disruption of oil flows from the Middle East, South America, North America, Africa or Asia would cause a spike in the global price of oil. If you can pay the price, all oil is “domestic;” if you can’t, all oil is “foreign” — even the oil produced here. Keystone XL Pipeline from Canada to Port Arthur, Texas would do one thing – give multi-national companies, some owned by the Chinese government, a place to export Canadian fuels globally. This does not reduce U.S. dependence on “foreign” oil. Instead, it further exposes U.S. citizens and economy to business strategies foreign companies and the whims of undemocratic and hostile foreign countries. Stop the Keystone XL Pipeline.

Harlan, if pipelines are so bad then why is the Alaskan pipleline still working? The truth is that there are pipelines all over the world carry oil, natural gas, and other products from country to country. What is it that you really want? A pay off? Officially, the U.S. is at 9.1% unemployment, unoffically 15%. Depression-era numbers. What is your ulterior motive for this? Are you like Obama and want to take the U.S. down a notch? If so state it. The truth is that neither you nor anyone within your organization have an answer to helping the economy. Finally, who is paying you to keep you in business. Who is building those wind turbines that are so prominently featured in your website. GE. How much are they paying you? They too are big business and would stand to benefit from such a pipeline building the pump stations for this pipeline. Such hypocrits. How can you stand to see yourself in the mirror? Inquiring minds want to know.

By the way, Harlan, what kind of car do you drive? Where did that gasoline that you put into the tank come from? If you are worried about Canadian oil then tell your buddy Barry Obama to open up drilling here within the U.S. Currently there is a moratorium on drilling. Harlan, you can’t have it both ways.
